One size fearless warrior does not fit all!!!
I love being a fearless travel warrior and sharing travel security tips and stories with you. However, I get it that everyone isn't interested in traveling alone to the temples of Angkor Wat in Cambodia or dining with warlords in Afghanistan or zip-lining through the tree tops of a cloud forest in Costa Rica.
Fearless living can manifest itself in a lot of ways. It could be moving to a place you have always wanted to live, starting a new job or business that you have dreamed of for years, hiking the Grand Canyon, running a 5K or a marathon, or completing a mini-sprint triathlon (I trained and did one of those when I was 49 years old). Maybe you have always wanted to go to Burning Man or an ashram or a retreat but your fears held you back.
Are your fears holding you back from a long standing dream to get your scuba, pilot or motorcycle license? Would you like to learn to sail, surf or SUP (Stand Up Paddle)? Do you long to make a difference by running for public office or by chairing a committee for a cause you believe in passionately? Secretly want to share your writing at a poetry slam or enter a stand up comedy competition? Join your community theater or compete in a local bake off? Learn to belly dance? Want to try Aerial Silk acrobatics a la singer P!nk style? Dye your hair pink??? Maybe you always wanted to wear leather pants to the PTA meeting but didn't because your were fearful about what others might say or think.
So, if you get my drift, each of us has personal dreams and desires that our fears can keep us from going for if we let them. One size fearless does not fit all. If there is something you want that will enrich, inspire or expand your life, then challenge yourself to get past your fears and do it.
Doing something in spite of fear can be its own transformation in your life, never mind the outcome. It isn't always about what you do or don't accomplish. Get over your fear of failing if you must.
I grew up on a family farm in Nebraska, attended a three room country school until 8th grade and my hometown had a population of 800 people. Every step from choosing to attend a large University, to becoming a Special Agent to eventually traveling and working and living around the globe was its own step in my own fearless journey. It wasn't always easy and it didn't always go smoothly. And that's okay because that is all part of fearless living.
Get past your fears and reach for your dreams. Transform your life in the process.
Wishing you a safe and fearless journey- Whatever that looks like for you!
